Note her thick application of paint. She peels back a layer to reveal something underneath. Idea of layers revealing layers could be useful in my work.

Video
A quick and simple digital painting tutorial. He is painting armor, but has some really good comments and thoughts about how metal plays with light.

Study
More research into projections and screens.
The distance required is really going to depend on 2 things.
1) The projector. It seems that they are not consistent with distance/size ratios.
2) The desired image size.
I will need to decide on an image size pretty soon so i can start to test projectors and materials.
Epson has a nice visual calculator on their site. I can use it for rough estimates.

Study
Rear Projection
Took a look at some materials. Higher quality professional screens can be very expensive.
Found some cheaper alternatives:
Spandex
Trapeze -by Dazian
Also looked into some basics of how it functions.
-Best used in darker spaces.
-Need to try to control and understand ambient light.
-The side receiving the image should be as dark as possible.
-Projector positioning can be finicky (dead center usually a no)
-Tension on the screen will help.
-Consider acoustic translucency.
